Fredag 12 Januari 17:30

Overview:
This 2 hour workshop is designed for pole dancers seeking to broaden their movement repertoire, delve into choreographic exploration, and express emotions and storytelling through their dance. Participants will engage in improvisational exercises inspired by physical theater techniques, incorporating elements such as partnerwork, rhythm, mime, story arc building, and music analysis. The focus is on empowering dancers to create unique choreography, whether it be an entirely new piece or an expansion of their current repertoire.

Prerequisites:
Completion of pole level 1 or equivalent experience in pole dancing is required. This ensures participants have a foundational understanding of pole techniques. No prior stage experience, whether in acting or pole performance, is necessary. This workshop caters to individuals at various stages of their artistic journey. The workshop is adaptable to dancers who prefer to perform with or without heels, providing flexibility in personal style.

Key Elements:
Movement Exploration: Participants will uncover new dimensions in movement through the integration of theatrical tools, fostering a deeper connection between the body and expressive storytelling.
Improvisation Techniques: Emphasis will be placed on spontaneous creativity, allowing dancers to discover fresh and unexpected movements within the context of their pole routines.

Choreographic Development: Learn how to construct a compelling dance piece by incorporating story arc building. Participants will be encouraged to shape narratives through movement.

What to Bring:
Materials: Please bring paper and pen for note-taking and choreographic sketching during the workshop.
Music: Bring headphones and curate a playlist of your favorite pole dancing songs. This personalized playlist will be integrated into the workshop, allowing participants to explore movement in sync with their chosen music.
